Layers for changing weather

Mountain weather changes quickly. Pack thermal inner layers, a fleece or warm jacket, and a waterproof outer layer you can carry on treks.

Footwear

Comfortable walking shoes with good grip are more useful than new boots. Carry spare socks.

Essentials checklist

  • Photo ID and yatra registration documents
  • Personal medicines and prescriptions
  • Small torch, power bank and water bottle
  • Rain cover for your bag

Health

If you have a medical condition, consult your doctor before travelling to high altitude.
