Char Dham Yatra by Road
- All four dhams in the traditional sequence
- Overnights near each trek base
- Assistance with yatra registration

The Uttarakhand Char Dham — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath — is traditionally undertaken between late spring and autumn, when the shrines are open. Compare road and helicopter itineraries and plan around official opening dates.
The traditional sequence runs from Yamunotri to Gangotri, then Kedarnath and finally Badrinath. Shrine opening and closing dates are announced each year by the temple authorities, and pilgrim registration with the Uttarakhand government is required.

Read about each temple — significance, darshan and how to reach — before choosing your package.
The four shrines open in late April or May (around Akshaya Tritiya) and close around Diwali and Bhai Dooj in October or November. Exact opening and closing dates are announced every year by the temple committees, so always plan around the official dates.

The yatra is traditionally done from west to east: Yamunotri → Gangotri → Kedarnath → Badrinath. Most road itineraries begin from Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun.
Yamunotri and Kedarnath involve an uphill trek; ponies, palkis and (for Kedarnath) helicopter services are available. Gangotri and Badrinath are reachable by road.
By road suits pilgrims who want to experience the journey, visit temples on the way and travel on a moderate budget. It usually takes 10–12 days.
By helicopter saves several days and avoids the longest treks — useful for senior pilgrims or those short on time. Flights depend on weather and government approvals, so keep buffer days.

The Uttarakhand government requires every pilgrim to register for the Char Dham Yatra before travelling. Carry a government photo ID, your registration slip and any medical prescriptions. Our team helps with registration once your booking is confirmed.
